Writers are hired as “content writers”, which can indicate a variety of different tasks depending on current need.  They have an extensive pool of blog writers writing keyword oriented posts;  these are 200 words minimum, written in bulk for distribution over a three week period.  The posts are written to capitalize on search engine optimization (SEO) and keyword searches, so occasionally they can be “dry”.  Writers receive a list of keywords and URLs and specific instructions on how to use them in the given block of posts.  Vertical Measures also hires article writers at the moment; their company is in a significant growth phase and their needs are currently growing and changing.

The blog posts are “ghostwritten”; you will write them, but you will not receive a byline.  They do support writers listing their employment with Vertical Measures on a resume.  The work is simple and usually assigned within the first week of the month; writers then accept or decline the assignments, and are given a specific due date.  The strongest point in Vertical Measures’ favor is that they pay very fast–usually within 2 hrs of receipt of the assignment, but towards the end of the month you might wait as long as 24hrs. 

The bottom line: An excellent resource; work is monthly rather than weekly, so it’s infrequent but valuable.
