eHow is an open content knowledge site that predominantly features how-to style articles. It is run by Demand Media, and many of the articles sold to Demand Studios appear on the eHow site. eHow receives over 26 million visitors per month, and has almost a half a million articles hosted on the site.
Writers can sign up and become part of the writer’s compensation program, the ad revenue service that allows users to earn residual income for their articles. eHow articles are typically very short, and only have a minimum of 200 words for the total article. Writer can write about anything they want, with the stipulation the title begins with “How To…” Articles accrue money over time, and the writer will get paid for monthly residual earnings as long as they earned at least $10.
While many revenue sharing sites take a long time to produce big results, it is possible to earn a very decent amount on eHow in a relatively short amount of time – and also with little effort. Writers generally earn at least $10 for their work within the first two months of being on the program, provided they write around 20 how-tos. By the time a writer has written 70+ articles, their earnings have significantly increased to around $1+ per day in residual income. There are many members who make $5 per day or even $10 per day from their articles sitting at eHow, however they have written upwards of 150 articles.
The nice part is it is really possible to just write them and leave them. If you are interested in promoting your work of course that helps, but due to the really high traffic numbers at eHow it is possible to make decent income from your articles without doing much else aside from writing them with good SEO keywords and tags.
The Bottom Line: eHow is too good an opportunity not to use. It is as close to easy money as you can get without actually getting money for free.

I’m also registered with eHow, but haven’t had time to write any articles for them separate from Demand Studios, so I don’t know how that would help my bottom line. Given the review above, I’m going to have to carve out some time and see what happens.
